From Outer Space


From Outer Space is a transdisciplinary design and research practice led by Anna Paola Buonanno (b. Italy, 1986) and Piergiorgio Italiano (b.1983, Italy). They explore the spatial implications of economic, social and environmental issues by creating interiors, installations, objects and interfaces, within physical and digital environments. Research on how to display is at the center of their activity and they have recently curated set-ups for Marséll Paradise, Edicola Radetzky and Dropcity (Milan).

From Outer Space has been awarded the first prize for the ReCall project at the Embassy of the Nordic Countries (Berlin, 2014) and exhibited works at WUHO gallery (Los Angeles), Felleshus (Berlin), M4gastatelier (Amsterdam), Falstadsenteret (Ekne, Norway), Camp Design Gallery, DOCVA / Viafarini, Peep-Hole, Subalterno1, Supersalone (Milan), Fahrenheit39 (Ravenna).

The studio has collaborated with brands and cultural institutions such as Bulthaup, Icon Panorama, IFI Spa, Leroy Merlin, Luceplan, Mondadori, Mousse Publishing, Politecnico di Milano, Siemens Home Appliances.

Anna Paola and Piergiorgio currently teach at Politecnico di Milano, IED Torino and NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano.
