Martina Cristofani (1980, Italy) is a ceramist based in France and founder of Atelier Riou. She explores notions of movement and fragility through porcelain everyday objects. Her pieces are handmade and unique, deliberately irregular, retaining the gestures’ imprints. The thinness of her production contrasts with the solidity of the final porcelain material, fired at high temperature.
Martina is graduated from the International Center of Photography (New York, 2002) and Luiss Business School (Roma, 2009). She works for individuals, architects, chefs and restaurants. Recent collaborations include collections for French awarded chief Alexandre Mazzia and the luxury Domaine de Baumanière.
